Population Data

The population data base reflects the normalised distribution of population over a planning area.

The official data sources such as those collected through cencus based on administrative boundaries are a precondition for the successful generation of a population database, used by PegaPlan.

Additionally an up-to-date landuse database is essential to distribute the population only to the built-up-areas.

Germany's population density varies greatly. The most densely populated Bundesländer are Berlin, Hamburg, and Bremen, The least densely populated are Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg, both mostly rural in character.
